風工房：かぜこうぼう ニット＆クロッシェデザイナー。武蔵野美術大学で舞台美術を学んだ後、20代より多くの手芸誌に作品を発表。繊細なレース編みからスポーツウェアまでこなすマルチプレイヤーとして第一線で活躍。欧米の手芸事情にも明るく、国内にとどまらず海外にも活躍の場を広げている。伝統のニットにも造詣が深く、特にフェアアイル・ニッティングには並々ならぬ思いを持ち、本場シェットランド諸島には何度も足を運び、技法の研究とともに独自の『カラー』を確立。近著「まきものいろいろ」（文化出版局）をはじめ、「風工房のお気に入り 色遊び277」(日本ヴォーグ社)他、著書多数。

This is the first book that the author Kazekobo, also known as Yoko HATTA, a knitwear designer well-reputed for her designs on traditional knitwear, focuses on Fair Isle knitting using Shetland yarns. Introduces the ultimate techniques of Fair Isle knitting, the authentic method handed down in Shetland, the northern islands of Scotland. Adding extra stitches called steeks will enable knitting in the round, and you can enjoy colourwork knitting to the fullest.
